Hello There and Welcome!

When I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) a few years ago, life got harder for us. One of my children has cerebral palsy and is in ordinary mainstream education.  She’s an absolute darling.  My other daughter is also a wonder to behold.  They’re both teenagers.

I’m a married, part-time working, dog lover.  I try to cook and clean as well.  In fact, getting this house in order and keeping these people that live in my house fed and healthy are my biggest challenges!

I started this blog to connect with people going through the same difficulties as me.  So if you have chronic pain and illness, are parenting a child with disabilities or have some wonderful cleaning tips for me, grab a coffee and pull up a chair –

It won’t be pretty, but it will be real.

Post Script  I now homeschool educate my daughter who has difficulties.  Now THAT is an adventure in itself 😉

  1. Hi there! 15 years ago I was diagnosed with RA and fibromyalgia, although my RA diagnosis was recently changed to psoriatic arthritis when I started presenting with a rash. I feel your pain, literally. I don’t have kids but I have a house and husband to look after and sometimes it’s a bit much. I take my hat off to you and anybody else with chronic diseases and kids. Wishing you all the very best with your health and blog, I just had to follow you! Take care! Gen.

    1. Thank you for your lovely comment Gen. I’m sitting here, in bed, feeling like my bottom half is about to drop off the rest of my body, and you’ve really cheered me up! Thank you!
I had to giggle to myself when I saw your blog’s title, Eat Play Clove, you can’t go wrong with that one at all. I’ll be following you in a mo :). X.

      1. Ah I’m so sorry. There is really nothing I can say to make it better and take the pain away but know that you are not alone and there is a strength in you that will overcome this, even if it doesn’t feel like it at the moment. Be kind to yourself as I often think we’re hard on ourselves and end up pushing ourselves in an attempt to be ‘normal’ – whatever that is! Thank you for the follow, I appreciate it, and I’m sending you lots of healing vibes.

  2. I have suffered from chronic pain from many sources (including osteoarthritis) for over 20 years. I don’t have children, though I do help out a friend with her little ones when needed and I have a dog and cat who are treated like our kids! I understand totally what you are talking about and can relate to the challenges of every day life. One think I have found for cleaning is to pick my “battles”. I work for a half hour at a time and focus on one task like cleaning the toilets. Next time it might be the sinks, etc. As for food, I try to make extra of a meal so that when I don’t feel up to cooking I can pull something out of the freezer (i.e. pre-cooked and seasoned taco meat). I look forward to following your blog. And thanks for visiting mine!
